Hi Im Kirstine,

founder of Literacy Lovers. My family and I are full-time farmers here in New Zealand, and Literacy Lovers grew from a very personal journey with my own child.

After watching him struggle with the foundations of reading and writing, we spent thousands of dollars on tutors, literacy programmes and learning resources, searching for something that would really click. Each helped in different ways, but I kept finding gaps — so I began creating the resources I wished we’d had from the beginning.

Literacy Lovers brings together the best of what we learned along the way, with colourful, engaging resources designed to make literacy practice simple for parents and enjoyable for children.

The activities are practical, easy to use and designed to fit into busy family life — because as a working mum, I know there’s rarely an extra hour in the day!

My hope is to give children strong literacy foundations, growing confidence and, most importantly, a genuine love of learning.

My daughter is 10 and she can use the Rule Book mostly on her own, which I love. Theres still enough in there to challenge her, but everything is explained in a way that she can actually understand. She wears coloured lenses to help her eyes focus, so the colourful pages have been such a bonus for her too. It’s lovely finding a resource that works so well for the way she learns.
